Elizabeth, of course, lives just down the hill at Wells Gardens, a 7-iron from the Home of the Brumbies, whence we shall soon hear shouts of encouragement in a South African accent. In between our respective houses lies Bell Street, the Home of the Gang-gangs - or it used to be. In past years at this time of year hordes of them could be found attacking the seed of the Cockspur Thorn. Some years ago I counted as many as 40 in this short street at the one time. However this year the trees are standing with fruit intact, with only a couple of GGs reported by the locals to have made an appearance. This state of affairs has not occurred in the previous 20 years. Surely Elizabeth's gourmet offerings cannot be entirely responsible. -----Original Message----- From: Peter Ormay Sent: Thursday, 28 April 2011 9:31 AM To: Elizabeth Compston; Canberra Birds Subject: gang gangs Where r u Elizabeth?
