Emeritus Professor Harry Recher draws on four decades of bird research
in Australia to ring the alarm bells on the decline of Australia's small
birds. These are the bush birds of our forests, woodlands and suburbs,
and he finds that perhaps half of their former populations and abundance
have already been lost. He outlines what we can do to save the rest,
and concludes that Australia's small birds are too beautiful, too
precious, to lose. The video runs for 12 mins 50 seconds, but is well worth watching and listening to . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyUmptgs4sU Denis Wilson |
