Dear All,
Philip you really are wiping my eye for me,aren't you?...I live there and I haven't heard Bee Eaters,Well done....maybe my increasingly poor hearing has a little to do with it...On Owlet Nightjars,Yeah if you know the call they are common enough on the Saddle,I even had one mown over and killed in the grass behind my back fence a few years ago, they lie up sometimes....On my regular Peregrinations,to the Flesh pots of Queanbeyan I often drive along Fairburn Ave,regularly,at about 1AM I see them around the Mt Ainslie Turnoff hawking for insects, two at least were there last night.
