That is a curious one. Yes Common Blackbirds will do some mimicry of birds but a Brush-tailed Possum is a really unusual suggestion.........

Can anyone suggest a reference to mimicry in Common Blackbirds? Think I witnessed one mimicking, or  attempting to mimic, the call of a Brush-tailed Possum one evening recently. Haven’t turned up much on the web or in the books.
