Great excitement for me.
These birds were sitting on the wires at the back of my
house when I went outside. They stayed long enough for me to get the bins
and have good look at them.
Gorgeous pink colouring at the base of throat feathers and
very long and sharply pointed pale whitish bills a bit tucked into throat
feathers. Bluish marking around the eyes were larger and darker in some
birds than in others. Would this be a flock of younger birds? I
read that mature birds are more sedentary.
Off they went in a quick flurry with higher pitched voices
than the usual Corellas that we see in Canberra.
I didn’t notice any yellow under the tail.
I suspect they picked my area because there is a bird feeder
in the garden over the back fence and Sulphur Crested Cockatoos are generally
hanging around.
