For info. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Jean Geue <> Date: Mon, Mar 7, 2011 at 4:56 PM Subject: [ANPSWW] Tharwa Bridge closed 21 Mar - 25 June To: Hi Wednesday Walkers Tharwa Bridge will be closed for 'restoration works' from 7am Monday 21 March to 7am Saturday 25 June 2011. This means we will need to allow an extra quarter of an hour or so to get the Namadgi Visitors Centre. The official public notification was in Saturday's Canberra Times. Sometimes they open before the scheduled time and sometimes they extend. Some people may have seen Tony Gill on the TV on Friday or Saturday night saying it was to be closed. It was open on Sunday for a Field Nats' walk. The main TV story was about the opening of a Bailey Bridge on Smiths Road (the Tharwa Sandwash/Angle Crossing/Williamsdale route) and either the forthcoming or successful concrete pour for the GDE/Barton Highway bridge.
