Until this summer our GBS site in Ainslie has been visited very rarely
by bowerbirds, indeed I'd only had a handful of sightings on the east
side of Canberra. Since December one or two green birds have been
appearing regularly, much to our delight. Last weekend we returned from
a couple of weeks away to find we have a bower in the garden, right next
to the bowerbird's favourite fig tree. Not the best built bower I've
ever seen, but a bower nonetheless.

This morning the same fig tree had a male koel feeding in it, and later
an immature oriole.

regards
Steve
