Hi all

I know/hope, I couple of people are still interested in this.

The juv. Koel ist still around and still guarded by currawongs. It has gone from occasional breaks in calling to hardly any calling in the last week or so.
A few days ago I thought, its "voice broke", because I heard a male calling again, but this juv. is still doing the very occasional begging call.

Here a photo from this morning during school run. Sorry about the back lighting. I found it unusual to find it on this open perch. The Currawong looks reasonably small compared to the Koel.

Another photo from 2 days ago - again, on the school run: A stand off between a young magpie and a neighbor's cat. The magpie eventually and very casually flew onto the telephone distributer box about a meter away.
