For what it's worth... I saw a female king parrot on Callum Brae this morning. She was sitting within a couple of feet of a rainbow lorikeet, answering its every vocalisation. Even more interesting, the rainbow lorikeet was uttering a greater variety of sounds than I have ever heard from a parrot in the wild. It sounded more like a cage bird. However, the rainbow lorikeet did have a companion of its own kind with whom it later met up, and the king parrot disappeared. Should I be reporting them? Peter |
