As far as I could determine at the time, this bird was the
same size as a thornbill, in fact, I thought it was. It was taken in a
tree near the bottom end of the creek that runs west to east right through the
middle of the reserve. That creek stopped running more than a fortnight
ago, though there are wet reedy patches in the bottom of the big washaway where
I was. (I put this bit in, because the only white-plumed honeyeaters I have
ever seen have been beside watercourses.) As for the colour, take
your pick. They are two different exposures, showing just how much light
influences the human eye’s perception of colour.
