This http://birdsredesign.wordpress.com/2011/01/05/radio-interview-about-dead-blackbirds/  (from Cornell so pretty reliable) seems to be a reasonable summary.  I heard the powerline solution mentioned on the radio - possibly the Sean Dooley show about a week ago.  There are some really good conspiracy theories around on some sites!

Has anybody heard any follow up on the stories in the news recently?  I’ve been in the Tasmanian wilderness, so I didn’t even hear the original stories.
