Yes  various waterbirds fall foul of fishing lines.  Pelicans, cormorants and spoonbills have been noted with the problem  in the past.  There are quite a few juvenile LPCs there, eg:

AKA Kelly’s Swamp.  A dozen (roughly) little black cormorants and eight or more little pieds.  This one gave me some cause for concern because it looks very much as though it has a fishing line coming from its mouth.  In the third shot it is blown over the back of its neck.   Is this a common problem with cormorants?
