Not in the ACT yet, but 5km west of Jindalee Nature Reserve (State
Forest as was) at Flagstaff Creek. 4 birds associating with Choughs.
This is the furthest east is have seen them.
Jindalee itself is looking splendidly green, but with grass in the
front paddock chest-high in places it was difficult to get about and
we didn't see many small birds (eg Robins). Thousands of Rufous
Songlarks singing from the treetops, however (sic, I suppose because
the grass is so long).
Disappointment was not seeing any Babblers (White-browed, which used
to common at Jindalee), or Grey-crowned, which used to be common along
the roads north of Stockbingal a little to the west. There were
thousands of Choughs, however, at Jindalee and further west.
