Thank you for your email, the majority of which I agree with. As a matter of fact I’ve previously refrained from blocking correspondents for the very reason you cite, namely I could deprive myself of the benefit of their knowledge. Furthermore, I greatly appreciate variation in styles of communication. It would be an insipid world if we all consistently conformed to set guidelines – I think of my early schooldays L. However, I must correct you on one point; I do not wish to block people because they disagree with me – please.

Nonetheless when, after objective consideration, I still discern overtones of arrogance which impart a feeling of belittlement; well, the time has come the walrus said to implement the block.
