To those who responded to Steve's email

It has been decided to delay the visit to the property until we have some cooler weather.  I will send an email to the chatline a day or two beforehand. I spoke to the owners this morning and they are very flexible.

Cheers
Sue

Hi to those interested.

As I have "broken down" with some old back trouble, I shall not be able to go to Broni's & Mac's
for the survey on Sunday 2/01/11.  Have to rest and make sure I am able to drive to Vic. on 5/01/11.
Have approached Sue Lashko to lead the outing, you will probably hear from her soon.

Directions to the property are -
1 -- take Barton Hwy to the Nanima Rd. turn off beyond Hall.  Pleasant drive, all sealed.
Turn off just beyond Gooromon Ponds and follow this road to the Dicks Crk. road turn off.
From Barton Hwy to Dicks Crk Rd. (at Coot's Crk). -- 13.5 kms.  Turn right into Dicks Crk. Rd.

2 -- from Dicks Crk. turn off to Boutchers Dr. -- 2.4 kms.
Sealed road ends at Mountain Vale Rd. then road reasonable but numerous pot holes (avoidable)
but beware of 2 nasty small gutters across road.  Worst one after sealed road ends.

3 -- Boutchers Dr. is left hand turn off and better dirt road than Dicks Crk Rd. but some rough spots.
Drap'hyd is 4.7 kms from turn off and the no. 473 is on your left and not noticed until you are nearly passed.
    Hidden by tree.
Front gate usually open and drive swings back to left.
Gate is first on left after "Pinevale", (also on left, grebes on dam).  This section of road at top of "range".

4 -- Best birding along main creek, but birds can turn up anywhere.  Adjoining timber & plantation along boundary
    possible.

4x4 vehicle necessary when driving through property, as steep & stony.

Have fun,

Steve.
