Hi Graham and COG MEMBERS
I may have mentioned that COG is looking at running COG pelagics again next year. We have now confirmed the weekend of March 5th and 6th with Freedom Charters in Eden.
This weekend will be run in a similar manner to last year - two single day trips leaving Eden at 7am both mornings and returning at around 3pm. Anthony Overs and I will act as leaders on both days and will happily help with seabird identification. It will be up to the individual to organise their own travel and accommodation in Eden but I am happy to help organise car pooling. I have not decided upon the deposit yet and will inform people of this in mid-January upon my return from Ireland. Once each participant has paid their deposit they will then be responsible for this cost should I not be able to fill their space on the boat.
I will start taking names now for the two single day trips. There are only 10 spaces per day (after Anthony and I are included) and these spaces will be filled on a first reply basis - please let me know your preferred day. COG members will be given preference. An annoucement will also be made at the January COG meeting.
Cheers Dan
ps Beth has just informed me that the Canberra Times parrot article was about the proposed split of the Western Australian race of Ground Parrot. The article discussed the work done by Leo Joseph at the ANWC on this 'Western' Ground Parrot.
