Tim

There have been a small mob of Rainbow Lorikeets mainly in the suburb of Hawker over the last few years.  Two or three  sometimes more came daily to a large Banksia we had in our front yard in Scullin in all months of the year.  Since we removed the tree the visits are less frequent, but occasionally they come, and I spot them near the Hawker playing fields most of the time I go there.

Cheers

Paul

Dear All

I spotted a pair of Rainbow Lorikeets at the Pinnacle Reserve the other day - they appeared to be a pair -  lots of mutual preening going on between then. Do these birds breed in and around Canberra and how common are they ? This is the first time in over 18 months i have spotted a pair in Canberra. I have been aware on the chat line that they get seen occasionally.

cheers

Tim Birch
