This afternoon from Bob Rusk’s old vantage point on Mount Pleasant I saw cattle egrets in the long grass on the floodplain. I confirmed them from the cycle path. One had some breeding colour. First I’ve noticed this year. Wonder if anyone picked them up in the blitz survey. I only saw 2, so they had some difficulty with so many inconveniently spread out cows.
