Tawny Frogmouths seem to be everywhere at the moment. Last
week I got to within 1m of a bird standing on the roadsign for Woolner-Erldunda
in Hawker. The house owner came back and I was so excited I had to tell someone,
so I told him and he is like ‘yeah great, an owl’ and kept walking. The bird
then swooped me, just missing my head. On the Pinnacle walk on Sunday we saw a
bird on a nest at the end of Dungowan street
(some saw 2), plus a bird at the SE corner of the Stringybark forest. Then
walking home at 11:30 pm on Sunday I heard one calling in ORourke St
Weetangera.
