There were three Wedgetails circling quite low just across the river from the Cotter camp ground on Saturday morning.

I cycle up and down Cotter Road a couple of times a week, and this year there have been a lot more dead roos at the side of the road. I guess due to all the extra dawn and dusk traffic going to and from the dam construction. Indeed, a few weeks ago there was one unfortunate roo thrashing around in the ditch that was still alive with the lower part of one leg missing. There wasn't any mobile phone signal where it was, so I had to ride to the top of the hill before I could call the rangers.
