Hi Alberta,

If indeed there is a nest of Golden whistler in Chapman (or anywhere in Canberra suburbs), that would be a (very?) rare occurrence and well worth documenting. Certainly within the first 21 years of the GBS, there was only one breeding record. The GBS Report notes "The only GBS breeding record was in early November Year 20 at Site 203 and it was just a dependent young observation, it may have been hatched far away."

Unsurprisingly, the text in the latest BOCG book, with access to several more years' data, contains much less information than that. And thereby could provide the thought that the record could have been a local breeding, which it almost certainly wasn't.

Hey all,

Male Golden whistler spotted in Chapman on Namatjira drive near Percy drive.  My first experience with using MP3s to bring them in closer. I think there's a nest on our property but I didn't have time to see.

Alberta Hayes, Chapman.
