Yesterday, cycling along, I saw (Sat) a Grey Currawong on the eastern
side of Lake Ginninderra - not a common sight.
It was near temporary, frog-filled ponds.
Also a wonderful opportunity to watch a darter fishing for and
swallowing 3 largish
carp(?) 3 metres away, from the bridge west of Ginninderra College.
This winter our (Melba) garden has had visits, several times a day,
every day, from mixed feeding flocks,
with never fewer than 20 Yellow-Faced Honeyeaters. This is new,
although we've lived here for 36 years.
I've had excellent opportunities to practise my new hobby &
photograph the visitors.

Included is a (poor) photo of my first sighting ever of a Southern
Whiteface, taken at Tidbinbilla.
Weebills have also been common although harder to photograph.
Can anyone tell me what the bird with the large moth might be? (taken
at the Botanic Gardens)
Another casual observation is the much smaller than usual number of E
Spinebills in the garden this year.
