This morning on Callum Brae, I saw a string of about 30 Australian white ibis flying south.  Why do I always seem them flying south?  Do they go around in circles, or do they return in the evening when I am not there?

Anyway, this fellow up the front of the string was carrying a stick in his beak.  Was it a precious piece of building material, or the leader’s baton?  Thought it a bit curious for I have never seen a bird in a big flock apparently covering some distance carrying nesting materials.

Just thought I would share it with you.

Margaret.
