This morning I went to follow in Julienne's footsteps (or wheel tracks) Southish from Hoskinstown to the Captain's Flat Road.  (I had attempted a fire trail off Mill Road, Forbes Creek but it was ungood in condition without many birds.)

Heading out of Hoskinstown a male HOODED ROBIN appeared before I got to the hard left hand bend.  Unfortunately it departed before I could snap it.

Heading on to look down into Foxlow Lagoon, a male MUSK DUCK was splashing about.  A kilometre further down the track a pair of SOUTHERN SHOVELLERS was swimming around n a dam to the LHS of the road, together with about 10 GREY TEAL.  While common in Canberra both these species are fairly unusual in Carwoola.

After another kilometre a pair of FLAME ROBINS were enhancing a hawthron bush.  At the base of the bush, and out into the grassier areas (which appeared to have been slightly enhanced by a feral, and hungry, pig) at least 6 SOUTHERN WHITEFACE were pecking around.
