pair of Gang-gangs back inspecting and chipping around a developing (....) hollow in our tall E. viminalis yesterday afternoon - assume they are the pair that is frequently around - at the developing hollow and enjoying hakea and casuarina (currently with stunning red flowers - as if thousands of rubies scattered on the tree with the low sun behind!)
cheers
Barbara

Similar story at the ANBG this morning - we stopped to watch some pardalotes and the 2 Gang-gangs in the tree above that we hadn't seen or heard - started dropping leaves on us. Spring is definitely in the air at the Gardens - there are birds everywhere and a family of Cloughs have a working bee in progress on their nest from last year.

Jenny and Colin Rees
/Yesterday outside Canberra Collage (Woden) I saw two GGs (a pair) low in a tree, I approached and asked where they'd been hiding last Sunday and they started bowing and creaking at me. Eventually they both lent forward simultaneously and snipped off two leafy twigs, which fell on my head.

I love Gang-gangs.
