Esme had the day off today so to celebrate the glorious weather, we
went for a walk to the top of Mt Ainslie and back.
A few kangaroos lounging in the lightly wooded area near the bottom as
well as a wallaby a little higher up.
Not huge numbers of birds (the most numerous were Noisy Miners and
Crimson Rosellas) but some interesting sightings anyway. Apart from
the usual Brown Thornbills and Superb Fairy-wrens, there was a female
Golden Whistler, a female Rose Robin, a pair of Spotted Pardalotes
with the male displaying loudly to the nearby female, a Grey
Currawong, two White-browed Scrubwrens and for the Winterbirds
Project, an Olive-backed Oriole (heard and also seen briefly).
