Mid afternoon a fast-flying group of Red Wattlebirds crash-landed in a Sassafras tree beside my house.
Approx 15 birds.
Flying south, in a bit of a hurry, it seemed.
They did not stay.

Anticipate their arrival in Canberra in several days.
I await word of RWBs all over Canberra shortly.

They are not residents at my place, while Brush Wattlebirds have been here for several weeks, feeding on Camellias, flowering Proteas, cut fruit (on a bird feeder).

Cheers
