I don't know how long WW Choughs remain dependent, but this pair were feeding and being fed at Callum Brae this week.   I show the pic because of the discussion about the eye colour by Martin - the difference in eye colours is remarkable, the adult was as red as it looks here, more so.  The food seemed to be just bits of green veg which looked unappetising; the youngster (if that's what it is) did some serious begging but didn't eat all of it. It seems there really hasn't been a break in breeding at all this year, given dependent young at the same time as the early nesters being reported.
