I briefly visited the Brindabellas this morning to suss out a possible ANPS walk.  The birding highlight was 8 male Flame Robins, all in full glorious technicolour, hanging out on Bendora Dam Road at the first bend from Mt Franklin Rd.

Returning to the City it suited my plans to have a quick look at Bruce Ridge, starting at Calvary, for a possible COG visit.  What an unsavoury sight..  The area immediately over the GDE at the Western end, at least, has been incinerated and is closed off to the public.    Does anyone know if this is a Habitat Reduction Burn gone amok or some other form of disaster?
