At Tidbinbilla this morning, in the wetlands area, a Black Swan pair were piggybacking a single very small cygnet.

sw

and a Pacific Duck was shepherding 4 very small ducklings (<1 week old?)  on the water.
(Similar species, but perhaps younger offspring?, than Bruce Ramsay's observations from Pt Hut Pond posted on 18 April - but could the Ranger-provided food supply here at Tidbinbilla effect breeding?).

Other birds;  in the wetlands area, a flock of very noisy Satin Bower birds, one adult male with what seemed to be more than 6 female/immature males, in and around a feeding station.
5 Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos flew overhead. A female Scarlet Robin. The only honeyeaters visible to my amateur eye were the occasional single White-eared.
Approaching the Tid reserve entrance through the grassland from the main road, at least two Australasian Pipits were on and off the fencing and down into the grass

At Casuarina Sands on the way out, one Little Bl. Cormorant and a pair of Scarlet Robins.
