Possibly also, in your area more than most, your bird is attempting to recover from having its head stood on by a rampant Peacock. The odd behaviour we have observed twice in recent days involves a great deal of tail-quivering. Once seen on our lawn and once in a tree. The nearest interpretation I can make for this is the Copulation invitation behaviour described in HANZAB. The birds timing was off in two ways:
