On Callum Brae this morning a pair of eastern rosellas were paying careful attention to a nesting hollow in a dead tree.  A few feet below in the same branch, a pair of starlings also had a nesting hollow.  Unfortunately, when the starlings arrived, the rosellas took off.  But then, when the starlings went away, the rosellas returned, and so it went on.  I’d say the rosellas were the more timid pair.

Neither pair seemed to have a calendar.
