Spent some time on Phillip Island (Westernport Bay) a few days ago: over 100 Masked Lapwings in one paddock, and scattered small numbers of lapwings almost wherever we went... including a pair on the flat roof of the house next door to where we were staying. Perhaps they were attracted by the grass in the gutters.
Highlight was a pair of Cape Barren Geese.
