Cattle Egrets

I haven't seen any of these for quite a while, but there were 6 Cattle Egrets in the willows as I paddled the eastern shore of Weston Park late Saturday morning.  There was also a good sprinkle of Darters, Little Black, Little Pied and Great Cormorants in the vicinity as well.  A Darter tried to unseat a Great Cormorant from one of the white poles in Orana Bay, but despite having its feathers ruffled from the physical contact the Cormorant held firm.  Over in Accacia Inlet there was an Australasian Grebe looking quite striking in its breeding plumage.  Back on shore about 15 - 20 Y/F Honeyeaters passed over heading east.
