This morning I had a Wedge-tailed Eagle over my place in (lower) Giralang. A little while later a Little Eagle flew over. It was calling and doing a bit of aerobatics, but I couldn't see a mate it was displaying to. Unfortunately it was outside my GBS site. It was heading west. Yesterday afternoon I again saw a Peregrine, this time in Belconnen, near Cameron Ave. I'm getting a few small flocks of YFHEs, mostly flying NE, but occasionally heading in the opposite direction.
Also, on Giralang Pond, the Black Ducks and the Wood Ducks have both produced new families of ducklings. The Coots appear to have disappeared today, although there have been a couple around in recent weeks. There is still a single Hardhead. I haven't seen Grey Teal there since January.
Duncan.
