A first sign of Autumn moving towards Carwoola was a flock of 5 Yellow-faced Honeyeaters moving SE over my GBS Site as the fog cleared this morning.  They were chip-chipping as though they didn't intend to come back any time soon.

The second sign showed that the cool weather is not yet here.  A small shrub adjacent to a pond was full of very noisy small passerines (Superb Fairy-wrens, WB Scrub-wrens, Rufous Whistler and Grey Fantails) were noticed buzzing arund and calling very loudly.  They gradually calmed down and as I approached the delicae head, followed by a fair proportion of the body of a 1m + Red-bellied Black Snake appeared from between some rocks.  So we can't relax canine vigilance yet!
