Lindell,
The
photos and likely possibilities support both your identifications (more than any
other possibilities), so I can't suggest anything more. Assisted by the text in
Pizzey's field guide, I'd say the Robin is more likely an adult female than a
juvenile (male or female).

ID-1. I haven't seen a Red-capped Robin before and would be sure that this was
one, but would it be a female or a juvenile male?
ID-2 was also at NVC this morning and unfortunately the light and angle
wasn't good enough to see the colour of the eye. Everything else points towards
a Western Gerygone. Would this be so?
Any help would be appreciated.
