Two aspects of this are of interest:\
(1) It may be the most suburban breeding location
in Canberra, although others may well correct me on that.
(2) It is a fairly late breeding start, will the
pair make it to raise young? Possibly, it is a 2nd nesting attempt after failure
of a first. Very little is known about the breeding biology of the Dollarbird as
a check of HANZAB reveals. No information on incubation and nestling period
etc.
I'll watch with great interest this chat line
for future reports from Robin Hide and others about the fate of this breeding
attempt.
