Yesterday the ANPS walked the Yerrabi track.  An excellent crop of flowering vegetation was seen as well as 26 species of birds.  The avian highlights were Brush Cuckoo; Painted Button Quail (2) Flame Robin (4, including a male displaying); Scarlet Robin (displaying); Spotted Pardalote (entering tunnel in bank) and Crimson Rosella entering hollow from which very noisy youg could be heard.

Today I had some time to fill while my car was serviced.  As the pubs were not open I took myself for a birding by bike trip.  My first  stop was Kelly's Swamp wheer the Spoonbill nests were still (just) visible as active from Cygnus Hide.  A Little eagle posed nicely on a bare branch near Birrigai.  At least 4 Black-fronted Plovers and 2 latham's Snipe were on the S bank and 11 Australian Ravens called from a dead tree near Crake Alley.

Moving on to Norgrove Park revealed a Baillon's Crake foraging on the edge of the lawn ajacent to the biggest pond.

A foray to the Carillon gave a view of a single Pied Cormorant on the usual small islnd.  It is the first time I have seen one there for several months.

An amusing observation was riding along the (apparently completed) R G Menzies Walk.  Quite a bit of the furniture along the way appeared to be the fashionable lightly processed ferrous metal.  Possibly it was pig-iron.
