I would be very concerned if Pindone, 1080 or
any other poison were used to control rabbits in the area for fear of secondary
poisoning of Homo sapiens bow hunting, digging out, catching or clubbing rabbits
by spotlight that had not long ingested a bait. I have been at
Kelly's with my partner one evening just on dark when a car arrived and a guy
hopped out with a head torch and bow and started hunting I think before he
realised we were there. He was clearly silhuetted against the lights
from the Russell offices. One or two poison warning signs hung on fences in
the area as is usual are insufficient to alert anyone who may come into the
area with a head torch and a bow or shovel for a rabbit after
dark.
