I received a message yesterday that the Hoskinstown Superb parrots have not been seen for several days, which appears to coincide with the increase on Mt Rogers.  Are the birds withdrawing to the original stronghold?

Thursday morning there were reports of "lots" of Superbs on the NE edge of Mt Rogers prior to 08.30. BY 08.30 there were two flying across the Wickens Place (Fraser) carpark and then remaining calling in the trees 'behind' Woodger place.  By 08.45 begging calls came from the trees north of the twin reservoirs and I saw two DY being fed by a male.
As he flew off he was joined by (presumably) his mate & the young became quiet.

About 20 mins later there were groups of SPs in trees above Avery Place (Fraser) gardens with many begging calls. I would say there were at least 12 birds involved though some flew out of the trees from time to time.
At one point it seemed a brown raptor was hasstling the family. It was seen off by the male.

Although 30+ birds have been seen near MT R previously I've not been there at the right time to see those numbers.
It's intriguing to speculate on the origins of this morning's group.
