A friend living in Wybalena Grove in Cook tells me that there have been "lots" of Superbs munching on acacia seed pods around her place for a couple of weeks now.

On Friday (4th), morning and this morning (6th) there were many "coming and goings" of Superb parrots in the area around the Wickens Place Carpark, Fraser. Three males flew off together to forage in a S. Easterly direction but there were also females around and adults responding to begging-calls. One watcher suggested at least 16 parrots. There could be more as there is constant flying activity in all directions. This activity is observed between 07.30 and perhaps 9.0am. Locals report Loquats being eaten/trashed in their garden whereas others see the birds foraging on the recently mown grass. How long this aarea will remain as a hot-spot is unknown of course!
