Hi all,
Just back from a week down at South Durras hanging out with my mates after finishing school. Whilst there I managed to find an Azure Kingfisher nest along Durras Creek. Attached is a photo of one of the birds at a favourite branch of its around 10-15m away from the nest. For a more detailed description of the story, go to: http://www.flickr.com/photos/callocephalon/4156635587/.

There was also the usual suspects such as lots of C Koels, good numbers of O-b Orioles, New Holland Honeyeaters, all three lorikeets, a pair of Sooty Oystercatchers that had adapted to the beach environment (in contrast to their usual rocky habitat) as well as a Brush Cuckoo. And probably some more stuff that I have forgotten.

Cheers
Tobias
