In recent years, we have seen a few corellas here in Ngunnawal. This morning I heard a lot of the characteristic mewing calls and saw a flight of about 10-12 heading towards the topmost lake in Yerrabi Ponds from further down the valley. The numbers are clearly on the up and up. Last weekend at the Vikings Club in Tuggeranong (site of a chess tournament I was attending) there was a large flock on Sunday morning—at least 30 but more like 40 or 50—reminiscent of the flocks seen in towns like Echuca at times.
