Does anyone know how far—typically—ARWs range
away from the reeds and water’s edge when foraging for food, staking territories,
etc?
I ask because I have been outside a fair bit today and at
least one is calling long and often from a large photinia hedge in the house across
the road. This is at least 50 m away from the little reed bed on the creek
below which (I assume) is home base.
Once or twice over the years I have had them in the tree
outside my study window (another 30 m or so further away) but then only
fleetingly, whereas this little feller (or lass) has been there since 10.30 (or
before) and is still calling away at 2.30.
