This afternoon I saw a Pied Currawong picking up soil and placing it in its feathers. At the location, there were little 'quarries', almost very small caves, in the bare slope, including one from which the PC was picking up soil. There were also spots of bird lime around about, indicating that this was perhaps not a random event but that birds were selecting this soil deliberately.
