Hi all,
This afternoon I spotted the (same) Fan-tailed Cuckoo again. It now appears (thanks Jack) that Fan-tails are quite rare for the Ridge, so it was nice to see it again. Still keeping very quiet.

The Painted Button-Quail is back in the area (or has been in the recent past). There were decent amounts of platelets in the SE corner of my usual patch of regenerating woodland. However (as usual), I couldn't find it despite trying. Maybe I'll see it one day:) Maybe it is a regular visitor to the Ridge every spring?? It was certainly there last year...

Cheers
Tobias
