This morning passing by the dam at Urriarra Homestead spotted this little guy on the (enlarged) island in the middle.

This is the best my camera would give me, the bird being so small and so far away. I didn't get out of the car to get any closer - too wet and too muddy!

I've not seen one of these before so I hope my ID is correct.
