While setting off from home this morning I came across 2 Bearded Dragons sitting in the middle of our drive. They gave some very clear indications, as shown in the attachment, that they did not require my presence. The beard is obvious (puts my own miserable facial hair to shame) as is the dilated body - when at rest the two reptiles were of similar shape. What was most interesting was the extent and speed of colour change: when really ticked off - with me or each other - both of them changed to the yellow colour in a very few seconds. When I returned t the scene about 10 minutes later they seemed to be engrossed in a bit of biff, mainly using the beards as a grappling device. I assume this means they were two males resolving a discussion about territory. I have commented in the past about the Tawny Frogmouth nest in a yellow box on our lawn. In addition to the frogmouths and Pied Currawongs further up the tree, in the last few days both Australian Wood Ducks and Pacific Black Ducks have scoped the tree out for nest hollows (of which there weren't any).
