Thanks for this thread. I photographed a caterpillar in our Melba garden
in July and I think you've identified it for me.

I've posted photos of two other caterpillars with "horns" as well.
Psilogramma menephron disguised admirably on a lilac bush
and a mystery "gum leaf" begging for identification.
